Book Summary:
A fascinating and powerful story that follows Elim Garak as he seeks to mend Cardassia’s damaged society.
Garak has simply wanted to return home for nearly a decade. Exiled aboard a space station, surrounded by different species who despise and distrust him, Garak’s one wish has been to return to Cardassia. At home. however, he finds a planet riddled with murder and disaster.
Ironically, it is a message from Dr. Julian Bashir, one of the aliens on the space station, that leads Garak to examine the fabric of his life. Elim Garak has worked as a student, gardener, spy, exile, tailor, and even liberator.
But it is the tailor who understands Elim Garak and what he could become. It is the tailor who sees Cardassia’s tattered fabric and knows how to mend this shattered society. This is surprising because Garak has always aspired to be a tailor. However, both Cardassia and Elim Garak must seek the tailor. The tailor is the only one who can fit the pieces together and take a stitch in time.
